Sri Lanka's Davis Cup players felicitated Sri Lanka's Davis Cup players (past and present) and non-playing captains since 1953 were felicitated at a function held by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) at the Trans Asia Hotel on Monday night. Forty six players received 14 carat gold lapel pins to commemorate Sri Lanka's 50 years in the Davis Cup. The Minister of Enterprise Development, Industrial Promotion, Investment Policy and Constitutional Affairs, Professor G. L. Peiris, was the chief guest and distributed the lapel pins. Among those who qualified to receive these lapel pins were - Percy Ernst, Douglas Scharenguivel, Douglas Fonseka, Koo de Saram, Bernard Pinto, Rupert Ferdinands, Raja Praesody, D. D. N. Selvadurai, G. N. Perera, P. S. Kumara, Lasantha Fernando, K. Arichandran, Suresh Melvani, Ranjan Wattegedera, Arjun Fernando, Suresh Sivagnanam, Nihal "Jumbo" Fernando, Arjan Perera, Everad de Silva, Sriyan Senadhira, Frank Sebaratnam, Ajith Perera, Niranjan Cassichetty, Neil Rajapakse, Umesh Walloopillai. Sujith Fernando, Jayendra Wijeyesekera, Rohan de Silva, Sanjay Wijemanne, Dishan Herath, Isuru Gunasekera, Genuwan Gunawardene, Lasith Dissanayake, Senaka Kumara, Manjula Weerakoon, Lahiru Jayasuriya, Roshan Razick, Rajiv Rajapakse, Samitha Ranaweera, Renouk Wijemanne, Asiri Iddamalgoda, Sanjeev Paramanathan, Dinuka Ranaweera, Ganendran Subramaniam, Chamara Wijesinghe, Franklyn Emmanuel, Harshana Godamanne and Oshada Wijemanne. This also coincided with the Davis Cup (Group IV) tournament now being worked off at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) in Greenpath sponsored by Aggreko International, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) and Trans Asia Hotel.
