PERISCOPE : Malle Pol!

Does the JVP know where they are headed? Like the twin headed dragon, they are pulled asunder by their greed for political power on the one hand and chicanery on the other. They too seem to suffer from delusions not only of grandeur but of fear that the Tribe is increasingly vary of their chicanery and have classed them as a definite obstacle to their dreams of a fatherland. So Rathu Sadhodharayas (RS), have mounted an extra watch for Tiger infiltrators into Colombo, the disciples of 'Thonda' included.

Rathu Sahodharayas have mounted a major 'Udhghoshanaya' in 17 districts on Wednesday last against the 'Interim Administration' ably aided by a 'Mada Para' poster campaign, it seems it is the way of the dirt (not the dragon).

While this circus is in progress their 'organisation for safeguarding workers rights and railway properties' union have cancelled their demo opposite Ministry of Transport planned for the same day preferring the Fort railway station, the perennial favourite of the down trodden to protest against the Railway Authority Act.

While wee flower was observed at Ramani salon getting the latest trim for his pretty lochs. Strange sense of the proletariat!! We did mention the strange behaviour of our 'bedfellows' where the SLFP chose to protest on the following day opposite their HQ. It still seems the Rathu Sahodharayas are confined to the 'Verandah' pretty lochs or not! The National Bhikkhu Front, the pro RS organisation have decided to throw in their sandals too,'isthoppuwa' or meda midulla!

Tribal Publicity

The Tribe in keeping with the propaganda machinery of the fatherland are adroit at drumming up publicity for the 'fatherland' claiming the entire Tamil nation supports the fatherland. Therefore more rallies are being planned in Jaffna and the Wanni. A Colombo rally too is on the cards. We advocate that the Tribe should have rallies in Katukurunda too, what with bicycles and old crocks joining in, it can become a tourist attraction. One can never say!

So the diaspora is being kept informed (or misinformed?) of the struggle for liberation. This time around it is the girls who are doing the jig! The Art magal and 'Thamilini' had taken off to the cooler climes of the land of the Vikings. Speeches they say, have not brought forth the manna from heaven! Funds we must collect for readiness for war and for reconstruction!

Boats ahoy!

The Tribe is not content with the publicity blitz and have got into top gear fabricating four more crafts for the sea faring tribesmen, now the fleet strength of the Tribe stands at 13, man! is it an unlucky number?

Protecting the East

The 'Organisation to protect the East' has been formed a few days ago in Ampara. Their purpose to protect the interest of Sinhalese and the Muslims living in the east. Call for the demerger of the North and East, Defeat the plans to grant an Interim Administration to the Tribe. The patron and grand protector is a Head priest of a temple in Kalutara. A bird whispers that a henchman of the Fairy who leads the SLMC faction along with another from the Elephant Ulla faction, are in the thick of this protection racket. More 'Udgoshanayas' are planned in Ampara town next week.

Pilgrim's Progress

Ranil was paying one of his rare homages to the Shrine at Talawila last weekend and wended (or choppered) his way to St. Anne's. Ravi the consuming One, Long John, Nirj Deva of EU fame, Lalin of Tea fame and Neo Mal who were invited by Ranil, tagged along for the purification of their souls. Ranil had made a donation to the church. He had pledged more assistance in the future and other facilities for the pilgrims. An occasional pilgrimage does one's soul good. What with all this racket about projects not being implemented, no relief to the poor, it is good for us to know that Ranil is worried about matters religious.

The aerial tour of the developments in the Puttalam Area was an eye opener for those in the chopper. All this flying compelled Ranil to hop into the SLAF camp in Katunayake quite by surprise for a refiller and to map out his vision for Tourism and also pulled out a map to show his Cabinet buddies where he plans to have the next International Airport. Keep up the go (o)d work Sir!

Crossing the Great Wall

Ranil has taken wing with Lucky Kiriella and young Sajith to China to cross the great wall and bring back many bounties from the land of Sun Zhu. It is not the Art of War for Ranil but how China is feeding their millions, and shaping the global economy through their burgeoning industrial exports.

There is an army of forty businessmen in the delegation headed by the Chamber Chief of AMW fame, which is poised to clinch victory now that the climate for forging of trade links and joint ventures is favourable. The private sector has to join the wagon now, or it may be never! Ranil is optimistic of his tour of the great continent. What with meetings planned for investors he is planning to bag five agreements before he returns. May be we will write on the 'Art of Ranil' for future generations.
