SLMM await Norwegian facilitator by Ananth Palakidnar The Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission awaiting the arrival of Norwegian facilitator and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vidar Helgessen and the Norwegian special envoy Erik Solheim to sort out the issue of Wan-Ela camp in Trincomalee and the other problems that have risen in recent days with regard to the implementation of the ceasefire, SLMM spokesperson Agnes Bragadottir said. Commenting on the Wan-Ela camp issue SLMM spokesperson told the Sunday Observer that the SLMM was trying its best to see an amicable settlement to it. "We have been touch with the LTTE and remain firm on our ruling that the camp should be removed. The issue has also been brought to the notice of the Norwegian facilitators and now with their arrival to Colombo next week we will take up the problems confronting us before them for solutions", Bragadottir said. |
