Born on September 7th
nineteen eighty four,
Farveez began
getting coaching
when nine years old.
At the age of eleven
he played his first match,
in a test against Ananda
he was wicket-keeper-bat.
As he grew taller
he could no longer
wicket-keep,
so Farveez went into
bowling,
got six wickets in his
first spree.
An attacking bowler
"Fast bowling's
about rhythm" he says,
"You have to work hard
for your wickets
In modern cricket today".
In batting, to be positive
Farveez likes,
his favourite shot-
the front foot off drive.
With 12 College
Games this season
31 wickets and 875 runs,
getting the Award he says
is a dream true, come.
"It is motivating
seeing professional
cricketers such
as Thilan Samaraweera,
Marvan Attapattu
having being in this
position once".
To England, Pakistan
Farveez has been,
plus to Bangladesh
and New Zealand
with the Under 19 team.
For Middlesex County
League
he's played for
three months,
As a part of a cricket schol
(missing his A's on the run).
Joining Sri Lanka "A"
In February this year,
Farveez played against
New Zealand
when they toured here.
His favourite cricketer's
Jacques Kallis
"He's the best all rounder"
he says,
Plus Marvan and
Chaminda
he likes to see play.
His biggest influence-his
father
who gave him his early
training,
playing cricket with
Farveez
Early every morning.
A prefect in school
"School's helped me a lot.
It's given me experience
and exposure
pushing me to reach the
top".
Listening to Rock 'n Pop
hanging out with his
friends,
going for cricket practices
is how his time, he likes to
spend.
What's he like as a person?
"I am straight forward" he says,
"I'm an organised person too
I like planning my day".
Of cricket he finally says
"I have a long way to go
I give my 100% for every game
to play for Sri Lanka's my ultimate goal".
