JVP muster support to save the nation With the proposed joint alliance now in shambles, the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is exploring the possibilities of setting up a national movement to save the country from being separated by an interim administration or invaded by a foreign force in the future. JVP spokesman said that they had already invited several parties and organisations to join them and claimed that a number of organisations had already given their consent to work with them on these issue. The JVP leadership had a lengthy discussion with EPDP leader Dougles Devananda last week. A JVP spokesman said that Parliamentarian Devananda also believed in a political solution to the country's national problem. He also revealed that they had discussion with several other parties, but refused the divulge the names. |
