Sri Lanka vs India in 'Emerging Trophy' opener on Sept. 20

Sri Lanka will meet India in the opening limited over cricket tournament in the Emerging Team Trophy Academy Series on September 20 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Khettarama.

The tournament originally was to take place on September 13, but now has been rescheduled from September 20 to 28 and the matches will be played at two venues, the P. Sara Stadium and the R. Premadasa Stadium.

India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will participate in the championships which will give young Test aspirants of the three countries plenty of exposure for their future endeavours. Neighbouring rivals India and Pakistan who have met each other in cricketing encounters at junior level on previous occasions will once again meet in the second game on September 21 at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

The matches will be played 50 overs per side, using white balls and coloured clothing with local umpires officiating.

The revised schedule of matches: September 20 (Saturday) - Sri Lanka vs India at R. Premadasa Stadium, Khettarama, Sept. 21 (Sunday) - India vs Pakistan RPS, Khettarama, Sept. 22 (Monday) - Pakistan vs Sri Lanka RPS, Khettarama, Sept. 23 (Tuesday) - Rest Day, Sept. 24 (Wednesday) - Sri Lanka vs India at P. Sara Stadium, Sept. 25 (Thursday) - Sri Lanka vs Pakistan at P. Sara Stadium, Sept. 26 (Friday) - India vs Pakistan at P. Sara Stadium, Sept. 27 (Saturday) Rest Day, Sept. 28 (Sunday) - Final at R. Premadasa Stadium.
