Sri Lankan u-19 ruggerites prepare for Hong Kong games Sri Lanka under-19 ruggerites are hard at training under National Coach C. P. Abeygunawardena and National Technical Director George Simpkins in preparation for the international matches against Hong Kong on October 9 and 11. The training for the Sri Lankans will start on September 15 and 16 at the Royal College Sports Complex from 3 p.m. The training will be on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for all poolists. The first international match will be between Sri Lanka under-19 (low country) and Hong Kong under-19 on October 9 in Colombo, while on October 11, the Sri Lanka (up-country pool) and Hong Kong under-19 will play in Kandy, before the final game between Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. The national selectors will then pick the final national squad to represent Sri Lanka under-19 at the Junior Asian Qualifying Tournament for the Rugby World Cup in South Africa. The Manager of the Sri Lanka team will be Lasitha Gunaratne. |
