To celebrate thirty three years in the music biz Golden Chimes with Lankika will be an extravaganza concert on Saturday September 27 at 6.30 pm. To make the event a memorable reality the Mahinda College Old Boys Association, Colombo Branch will be responsible for all the arrangements in staging the concert.
Mahinda College, Galle with its proud existence of 110 years has produced eminent and distinguished personalities including Ananda Samarakoon who wrote the Sri Lankan National Anthem. With this fund raiser the Old Boys Association headed by Lal de Alwis - President and J.M. Wimalagooneratne - Chairman Organising Committee intend to further enhance the educational and sports activities of the South, through the already established trusts by the College in these fields. Music wise the Golden Chimes will be performing all their well-known Sinhala songs as well the English gems from the 60s and 70s. What's more leading lights Annesley Malawana, Indrani Perera, Anil Bharethi, Rajiv Sebastian, the Dharmaratne Brothers, Sunil and Piyal, Ronnie Leitch and Oshanthi Dalpathado will be featured as guest artistes. There will also be dance items by Solar Heat and the show will be threaded together by the emcee Vijaya Corea. The organisers Mahinda College OBA tell us that the show will start on time at 6.30 pm with a 15 minute interval. Ticket outlets are Torana, Salaka and also at outlets in Moratuwa. |
