Low-cost calling cards

by Pelham Juriansz

Lanka Bell and Net2Phone Global Services, USA signed an agreement to market Net2Phone IDD (International Direct Dialling) calling cards in Sri Lanka by routing IDD calls over the Internet. Net2Phone calling cards will reduce the cost of IDD calls made from Sri Lanka.

Under the agreement, Net2Phone Global Services will be the host service provider for Lanka Bell's IDD calling cards.

These cards will be distributed throughout Sri Lanka. International calling cards branded as Net2Phone are targeted specially at frequent callers to the Middle East, India, UK, Europe and the USA.

Bryan Rowe, Vice President Corporate Development, Net2Phone said: "We have come here at a very exciting time. We are committed to customer satisfaction and are very customer focused. It took us some time to find the ideal partner, but we are satisfied with Lanka Bell".

Call cards will come in three price denominations and could be used to call from any phone service. Call charges are about 10-16.5 per cent less than normal rates.
