Bonus for SCB credit card holders The Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) has relaunched its Gold Card with more value additions and facilities. "The moment you are issued with a Gold card, you become eligible for a gift of a Cross ballpoint pen. You are also entitled to a free bottle of wine from Orient Lanka at the duty-free shop when you purchase liquor using the Gold Card and gain free membership to the Orient Lanka Labels Wine Club. You also receive a discount of Rs. 1000 when you check in at the Apollo Hospitals for a medical check-up if you pay the bill using the Gold card. You will also be in a position to obtain a 12 per cent discount on the annual subscription payable to Life Style Gymnasium and be entitled to receive discount vouchers to dine at the Colombo Hilton, Vivek Chand, Head of Consumer Banking, SCB said. "We have been able to capture the second position in the card industry". We are doing many things to consolidate our position and go forward," he said. With The 'Bonus Points' rewards programme, cardholders need not carry another plastic card to record bonus points earned. It is built into the credit card itself. Anytime customers use the credit card globally or locally, they earn bonus points. The credit card gives the customer flexibility of spending anywhere and the ability to save the points and redeem them when they reach the minimum aggregate necessary to redeem. The minimum points required for redemption for Gold Card is 1000 points while for Classic Card it would be 500 points. Other benefits available to SCB credit card holders are 'Sensational 10', a chance to win prizes every month, 'Member Get Member' programmes, 'Mobitel Special' which offers discounts on mobile bill payments and phone and accessory purchases, SafeNet, an insurance benefit, Dial-a-Doctor, a scheme where credit card holders may subscribe to the Medicalls mobile emergency service, free travel insurance and Suwa Sampatha hospitalization cover and loyalty discounts from various hotels and shops. Chand said plans are on board to introduce a debit card and a co-branded card with National Savings Bank. Investment has also been made in upgrading the bank's technology platform to a system which is currently in use in other branches in the region. By mid-November, the new technology, platform will be rolled out. |
