Abeysekera heads education commission

Nihal Abeysekera has been appointed Chairman of the Tertiary and Vocational Education commission. He is also the Deputy Chairman, Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technical Education and a member of the National Education Commission.

Abeysekera now plays a major role in the development and enhancement of education systems in the country. He has a proven track record with a wealth of experience behind him in industry and business management and has been instrumental in guiding many organisation to achieve their goals.

He was elected President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka this year and also functions as the Chairman of the Regional Industry Service Committee - Sabaragamuwa Province, National Cleaner Production Centre, Small and Medium Enterprise Developers and as President of the Sri Lanka Sub-contracting and Partnership Exchange. He is the Chairman of the Japan-Lanka Industrial Development Centre and serves on the directorates of several other organisations.
