Spirit - the new band in town

To quote a song 'there's a new band in town' and they call themselves 'Spirit'. Take a look at the picture at the men in dark glasses and you are sure to recognise them.

Yes, they were one time members of Golden Chimes, and now they are persuing a new track, a new adventure in music. The guys are drummer Shiraz Sudar, organist/pianist Disnaka Danasekera, bass guitarist Eranjan Perera, and lead vocalist Lucky Deva.

They have recruited the Spanish and electric guitarist Amara Guru to add variety to the band. Led by Shiraz Sudar and Lucky Deva the band, since they have a lot of experience behind them, quite naturally play a wide repertoire of contemporary pop including rap, the songs of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s as well as reggae, jive, cha-cha waltz and the golden oldies.

Spirit will be playing for dances, musical shows and weddings and are currently performing at some of the leading resort hotels in the South. Female singers who free lance with 'Spirit' are Sureshini, Mariazelle, Chaturani and Anurada as the occasion demands.
