IPM delegation visits india by Ramani Kangaraarachchi A six-member delegation headed by President Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) Sri Lanka Janaka Kumarasinghe visited a number of large-scale companies in India recently. The ten-day visit materialised following the MoU signed between the two countries to launch an exchange program during last year's National Conference held at the BMICH. The MoU was signed by IPM President and NIPM India President Partha Chatterjee.The objectives of the visit was to foster a strong relationship and strengthen the goodwill among the two institutes to study the best HR practised in India and to benchmark such best practices in our business organisations and in the IPM, to mutually provide opportunities for the members of the two institutes to interact closely. Honorary Secretary IPM Sunil Wickramatunga said. The conducted tours to various manufacturing and service plants in the major townships helped the delegates to observe how the Indian industries were managed and how best the HR factor was maintained and developed. Participants shared their view and discussed experiences effectively at various meetings.The delegation consisted of some key members of the institute Daya Bollegala, Sunil Wickramatunga, Lalith Wijetunga, Priyalal De Silva and Jayantha Amarasinghe. Among the places visited were the Lucas TVs factory, Futura Polymers in Chennai, Nalco and Reliance Polymers in Bhuwaneswar, Halida Petro Chemicals and the Desoon Power Plant in Culcutta. |
