Ad agencies and marketers honoured at SLIM 2004 The SLIM Awards 2004 will be honouring Marketers in addition to Ad Agencies as a recognition for the overwhelming role they play today. Marketing has always played a significant role in the Communications industry. As such the SLIM Awards 2004 committee has decided to recognize both the agency and the brand/marketer as it is the combined effort of both which results in successful brand building, from this year. Today Marketing is widely understood to be the soft touch of long term strategy to Advertising's tactical and decisive, precision deployed communications - a healthy mix of both are required for sustained competitive advantages. Another innovation for this year's SLIM is the ascension of Radio production to a well deserved place in the spotlight. At the SLIM 2004 Awards radio production companies will also be honored in the same way that awards have been presented to winning agencies and television production companies before. This year's event will have 13 award categories with each category having TV, Radio and Press awards in the advertising section and two categories in the intergrated marketing communications section. Advertising Categories for 2004 are food, beverages,personal Care, household Care, automotives, entertainment and leisure, information communication technology, office automation, business education and support services, banking and financial services, investment, insurance and real estate, social responsibility and public services, retail and corporate image. Integrated MarCom categories which will be presented are direct response marketing, point of sales, event marketing and sponsorship, public relations (Internal and External), outdoor, packaging, consumer and trade promotions, interactive media, transnational advertising, campaign extension and design. The culmination of the evening of 28th February 2004 will be the awards for the Print Advertisement of the year, the Radio Commercial of the year, the Television commercial of the year and, highest of all accolades, the best of the best Campaign of the year for creations done during the year 2003. |
