Multilac clinches top honours

Macksons Paint Industries, manufacturers of Multilac Paints recently won the Gold award at the National Awards for Export Excellence 2003.

Macksons Paint was set up in 1981 with a workforce of six employees.

It ranks among Sri Lanka's top paint manufacturers today, with a workforce of over 400 persons, accounts for over 90% of Sri Lanka's paint exports.

Multilac is today a household name not only in the Sri Lankan paint market but also in the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and even beyond in the Maldives, Myanmar, China and Australia. "The company's focus is concentrated on the Indian market.

The market there is excellent provided one strikes the right balance in quality and affordability, which we are confident we can do. In fact we plan to set up our own factory in India in due course", Makeen affirmed.

Macksons Paints recently launched its Automotive Paints in collaboration with Isamu Paints of Japan, under the brand name of Mitsuko, giving the consumer the choice of selecting any OEM (Original) colour code of any motor vehicle manufactured in the world.
