Carsons provides career guidance for undergrads To support the government's initiative to provide employment opportunities to university students, Carsons group has collaborated with the university network of Sri Lanka to provide the final year undergraduates with much needed career guidance facilities. To fulfil this need Carsons will provide training and counselling programmes in leadership, profile mapping, interaction skills, grooming, communication skills and computer skills for a cross section of students. Last November, the HR division of Carsons provided a comprehensive training session for 27 students of the University of Ruhuna on Leadership which was coupled with profile mapping exercises, insight on the emerging work ethics of the corporate world and guide to successful interviews. The initial venture by Carsons was well received by the students and the Academia of the University of Ruhuna. Carsons would extend this career guidance programme by reaching out to other universities on a timely manner. This is a timely project of national importance and would eventually help many deserving graduates who are moving into the job market. Carsons will utilise its resources to facilitate the government's national level efforts in providing employment and career guidance facilities to graduates through the Sarasavi Saviya programme. |
