J-Biz gives Jan 31 ultimatum by Hiran H. Senewiratne The Joint Business Forum (J-Biz), last week gave a January 31 deadline to the President and the Prime Minister to resolve the current political crisis, and warned that if the crisis is not resolved by that date they would launch a signature campaign to protest the failure. J-Biz comprising top leadership of the country's business chambers and bodies has also sought a meeting with the President and the PM to push the two parties to resolve the current political situation. But no date has been given for such a meeting. According to a J-Biz spokesman, a meeting will be summoned shortly, to obtain the signature of wider cross section of the society, to be forwarded to the President and prime Minister, urging them to work together for matters of higher national interest, such as the peace process and election reforms. |
