Seven international tennis tourneys in Colombo

Seven international tournaments are scheduled to take place in Colombo this year hosted by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) with the first being the 21st ITF Junior International Championship next month (February).

The Junior Davis Cup is down for May, followed by the Women's Circuit where prize money of US Dollars 10,000 is on offer in August as well as the Men's Futures for the same amount of prize money in August-September.

Yet another ITF Junior International Championship is to be staged in Colombo in September, while in October, there is the Masters with a prize tag of US Dollars 5,000 and also a Men's Futures totalling US Dollars 10,000.

The Colombo Championship is scheduled for July, while the Junior Nationals and 89th National Championship is down for August. There will be four major tournaments in the outstations. (L.G.)
