J.L.Morison invests Rs 7 mln on social responsibility program J.L.Morison Son & Jones (Ceylon) Limited importers of `Lexi' pens importers, will spend over Rs 7 million for its societal marketing campaigns for the year 2004. The programmes plan to assist selected schools and school children, its National Sales Manager Andrew Dawson told the `Sunday Observer'. J.L.Morison Son & Jones (Ceylon) Limited, established in 1939, is presently 100 per cent Sri Lankan owned Company importing writing instruments and stationery items under the brand of `Lexi'. it is a global brand available in over 20 countries with prominence in UK, Cyprus, UAE, Chile, Switzerland, Singapore etc, the National Sales Manager said. Lexi conducted a series of seminars for G.C.E. O/Level students in Monaragala, Kandy, Matara, Galle and several other districts in 2003. This year they have extended the seminars to include the students who are preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship examination. Field Sales Manager Anura Tennakoon said that priority will be given for offering students in Grade 5 and G.C.E. O/L from outstation schools. The company hopes to double the number of seminars they held last year. Lexi has also arranged to distribute 1000 notice boards to government schools and public libraries with the theme "This is our library and it is our duty to protect it". At the same time, they would also commence a theme campaign at Sunday Schools (Daham Pasal) providing a written advice weekly. (DPL) |
