Fast on the heels of success X-IT the pop group that shot into recognition no sooner it was formed has spread its wings to become a five piece outfit playing selective music that is not in every band's repertoire.
The singer/multi instrumentalist Kevin de Almeida is happy to include the highly talented guitarist/vocalist Shane Berenger and keyboardist Warren Vangranberg, to X-IT. You can continue to catch their popular special vibes at R&B on Wednesdays and Fridays and on Thursdays X-IT plays a gig at Clancy's. Kevin de Almeida, whose prowess in vocals is now well recognised, tells us that he is happy with the overall sound of the band and its repertoire of R&B and soul. "Everybody wants rock and that is why we are moving away from rock sounds and are playing soul and R&B from the books of the greats like Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Barry White, Al Green, Freddie Mercury to mention a few. We all know what wonderful songs came from them - songs that can never fade out of popularity. Now that Shane Berenger is with us he tackles the Barry White melodies and songs on the lower ranges in music, while Warren Vangranberg sings the many Dire Straits hits. With Shiraaz Nooramith on drums and Averille de Valliere on bass we enjoy ourselves making others happy" enthuses a friendly Kevin. So there you are, take the cue and indulge in infectious and powerhouse material from X-IT, at R&B and Clancy's. |
