Royal-Thomian side matches March 7 by A. C. DE SILVA There are side matches that will be played before the 125th Royal-Thomian cricket encounter. The three-day Royal-Thomian encounter will be played from March 11 to 13 at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds, Maitland Place. However, the side matches - over 40s match and over 50s match will both be played on March 7 at the CCC grounds with the over 50s match (25 overs per side) being played from 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and then again from 11.15 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. The over 40s match will be played from 1.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. There's special rules that will be applicable to both matches. In the over 40s match, each side will have to have three players who are over 50 years, while in the over 50 years match, there should be three players who are over 60 years of age.
