Three Coins has got the Blues Sri Lanka's solitary specialty brewer Three Coins is crediting the blues for inspiring its latest spirited effort at custom-brewing of specialty beer. Conferred exclusive beer rights for the upcoming 125th battle of the blues and joint selling rights at the 'Blues 125' carnival that precedes the match, the company has produced a new 'limited edition' draught beer to help Royalists and Thomians celebrate these events in style. 'Blue Spirit' is a bottom-fermented beer with a higher-than-average alcohol content of 7.5% v/v, that will be only be available on tap exclusively at the Three Coins marquee and from Three Coins dispensers during the carnival and the Royal-Thomian big matches this year. A rich golden yellow in colour, 'Blue Spirit' is an aromatic medium-bodied Munich style beer with a creamy grain mouth feeling and a deep dry biscuity malt and hoppy finish that will make the lions in both camps roar, its brewer said. "As the only brewer in Sri Lanka with a demonstrated ability and the spirit to custom-brew for special occasions, we believe the 125th battle of the blues is a fitting event to reiterate the character of a dedicated craft brewer," Three Coins Executive Vice President Ashaan Kannangara said. "The pile-em-high and sell-em-cheap practice of the mass marketer is not for us." |
