Singer merges with IFS Singer Sri Lanka, the dominant supplier of home appliances, sewing machines and agri-machinery in the local market, has selected IFS to provide an integrated business solution to manage its local operations. Singer Sri Lanka Chairman, Hemaka Amarasuriya, said: "For this project, we have invested US $ 850,000. Its objective is to replace a number of systems with one integrated business solution from IFS, covering all aspects of the business such as retail operations, supply chain management, service operations, human resources and financial management. Singer Sri Lanka has a two million customer base." After a thorough evaluation of the available solutions in the market, Amarasuriya said that they had chosen IFS since it could offer the best value proposition to meet their objectives. "With IFS, we will have one single view of our customers wherever or whenever they come into contact with us, either at the retail shops or at the service outlets which will enable us to serve them better, thus strengthening our position in the market," he said. Describing the IFS- Singer tie-up as a landmark project in the local IT industry, Vice President, South Asia IFS, Jayantha de Silva, said that IFS was particulary pleased that Singer Sri Lanka had decided to base its advanced IT strategy on IFS Applications. De Silva said they would expand this project with Singer Thailand and singer India in the near future. CM |
