Astrologer predicts UPFA victory

A local astrologer, responding to Minister Karunasena Kodituwakku's prediction of the UNF winning 124 seats at the April 2 election, has counter-predicted that the UPFA would emerge as winners as the President's horoscope indicates success for her.

Astrologer T. Sugathadasa who has made the prediction says that he was prompted to do a comparative analysis of the President's horoscope of August 1994 and April 2002 after reading Minister Kodituwakku's prediction in the March 14 issue of the Sunday Observer.

Sugathadasa says that a significant event which occurs in the horoscope of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga confirms her success and victory on the day of the elections, making her the undisputed Head of State in Sri Lanka.

According to Sugathadasa, the event is indicated in President Kumaratunga's horoscope as the 'Double Transit Phenomenon' of Jupiter and Saturn. In a double-transit phenomenon, both Jupiter and Saturn transit over their radical position in every horoscope, which indicates success, fulfilment of desire and victory.

"Party leaders lead their respective election campaigns and the success of any party at the elections is the success of the respective party leader. Of the two main parties, Kumaratunga leads the alliance of SLFP and JVP and its success is her success," astrologer Sugathadasa has predicted.
