SriLankan assists University of Colombo Twelve final year undergraduates of the University of Colombo received coaching in Busines English by SriLankan Airlines recently, in a programme with the Career Guidance Unit of the University. A total of 25 sessions were conducted at College House in Colombo by Business English Instructor Priyani Fernando. The programme was tailor-made for these undergradutes, after a placement test was held to assess their level of competence in English. The cost of the programme was borne by the airline. The programme is part of SriLankan's ongoing efforts in 'Making Gradutes Employable', fulfilling a long-felt need which has been highlighted by Sri Lanka's business community, to ensure that graduates have the practical skills to adapt to the private sector environment and interact with their colleagues, after spending years studying particular disciplines on a theoretical level. |
