Understanding & analysis of insurance accounts An agreement whereby Union Assurance Ltd. UAL will utilize the sales proceeds of the Book "Understanding & Analysis of Insurance Accounts" by Hydery A. Rehmanjee, to establish a Trust Fund for the promotion of Insurance education and professionalism in Sri Lanka, was signed with the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII), on Wednesday 24 March 2004 at the UAL Head Office. "Understanding & Analysis of Insurance Accounts" by Hydery A. Rehmanjee was launched at the Colombo Plaza in December 2003. The Book explains Insurance Accounts and Financial Statements and gives an insight into how they can be analysed and interpreted. It covers both Long term (Life) and General Insurance. The book will be of interest to almost everyone in the financial sector as well as other professionals. Since some knowledge of the insurance business will be useful in understanding insurance accounts and financial statements, the first two Chapters of the book provide an introduction to Insurance and Reinsurance. Rehmanjee is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (London). He has held senior management positions in the State sector in Sri Lanka as well as in the Private sector in Sri Lanka and abroad, and has served on several industry and government committees. Rehmanjee was the CEO of UAL for nearly 12 years and continues to function as a Director and Consultant of the Company. |
