Seylan Merchant bank(SMB) is the first financial institute in Sri Lanka to implement the Web content management system, DataScan.Online.

Senior IT Manager of Seylan Merchant Bank, Ceylinco Savings Bank and Ceylinco Development Bank, Senaka Attygalle, said" implementation of DataScan.Online, the document content management system, will enable Seylan Merchant Bank to share customer documents electronically from any branch while it is also possible to access any old documents within seconds."

"I believe that there will be a great improvement in providing a prompt service to our valued customers due to the available features as well as the architecture and database structures used by the system DataScan Online," he added. DataScan.Online enables millions of documents to be archived and accessed by multiple users. It can manage and index any type of document virtually while it is extremely easy to operate and administer.

In addition, documents can then be searched on different user-defined files resulting in a single document being located and viewed within seconds. Mohamed Saifulla, Representative of Infolume/STEX Software, said "we are really happy to introduce this system to Seylan Merchant Bank together with our marketing arm ImageLand. We strongly believe DataScan.Online would enable Seylan Merchant Bank to deal with its customers more effectively while allowing it to connect all its branches and serve its customers promptly from any part of the Island.

DataScan.Online provides powerful, reliable, secure, scalable and seamless Document Content Management System backbone to facilitate the flow of information and Knowledge. Sales and Marketing Manager of Infolume and Sri Lankan representative of STEX Software, said " we are the first company in Sri Lanka to introduce Document Content management system with an innovative cluster server architecture.

The same system is being used by American Express Bank , Bank of Tokyo , leading French Bank BNP Paribas while in Sri Lanka the system is used by Suntel and Dialog GSM. Infolume has successfully implemented the LAN version at National Development Bank, Eagle Insurance, Ceylinco General ,the Finance and Commercial Leasing.
