Popular conveyance for 'Oriflame Express' The ubiquitous trishaw, often the quickest way of navigating teeming city streets, will drive Swedish cosmetics giant Oriflame's latest service initiative in Colombo - The 'Oriflame Express' Delivery Service. The company plans to deploy three of these nippy vehicles in distinctive blue and white livery on urban and suburban routes from April onwards to transport products speedily to the company's sales consultants. Smartly attired delivery personnel in blue waistcoats with Oriflame branding will deliver orders to the consultants who engage in direct sales of Oriflame products. "As a company that operates exclusively through direct sales, supplying our sales consultants as quickly as possible is critical," Oriflame's Managing Director in Sri Lanka, Fredrik Widell, explained. The Oriflame Express service will be available in the Colombo and the Greater Colombo region including Hendala, Wattala, Kelaniya, Angoda, Dehiwela, Ratmalana, awatawatte, Moratuwa, Piliyandala, Werahera, Maharagama and Battaramulla, he said. It will operate six days a week from Monday to Saturday. Oriflame commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1997 and now has a team of more than 10,000 independent consultants in the country, some of whom earn as much as Rs. 150,000-200,000 a month through direct sales. Oriflame consultants have the choice of selling Oriflame cosmetics as a full-time occupation or in their spare time. The company has one of the world's largest cosmetics product portfolios comprising about 500 products in the skin care, body care and hair care categories, as well as fragrances, make-up products and toiletries. About 150 new products are added to this portfolio each years |
