After a highly successful run at the Grand Hotel, Nuwara Eliya Misty headed by Rajitha Rupasinghe move back into the Taj Samudra to play their usual gigs at 'The Mix' on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at Clancy's on Fridays.
The group was making an appearance yesterday (April 17) at the races to keep the punters happy and help them drown their sorrows if lady luck failed to smile down on them. This five piece outfit comprising Rajitha Rupasinghe - vocals/keyboards and leader, Dennis White - drums, Marlon Mendis - guitar, Dhammika Caldera guitar/sax and Sanjeeva Hettige bass, has been kept busy these past two months working out a crowded schedule. "We were in Hyderbad on February 19 to play for the Sri Lankan Airlines inaugural launch and have fulfilled many a dance commitment which were interesting experiences. When we return from Nuwara Eliya we will be playing for the Access Golf Course Launch which will be held at the Colombo Hilton on Friday April 23. Thereafter, we are at the Apparel Ball on April 30, followed by the Graduation Ball on May 14 at the Colombo Hilton and the Shepherdian ball at the Trans Asia on May 22, the season has been good so far for us" says an enthusiastic Rajitha when we caught him for a pow wow on the group's activities before he left for the Nuwara Eliya holiday season happenings." |
