In town and enjoying himself immensely performing at nightspots and at special events is Jerome Speldewinde no stranger to our music scene. The pull back to Sri Lanka is something he cannot resist, quite naturally, and Jerome flew back home to participate in the much publicised Royal-Thomian 125th Cricket Encounter celebrations. "I arrived here with my brother Kevin, both of us Thomians we just couldn't resist staying back in Australia. Kevin was mad on athletics, I was crazy on swimming, so the old school tie brought us back! And in the Thomian tent I sang everything from Ten Guitars to Danny Boy to Green Green Grass of Home and I was happy to be a teenager again!!" says Jerome with that characteristic smile of his. But he goes back to Cairns, Australia in the middle of this month to fulfil his many commitments for the tourist season which will be in full swing. Jerome who performs solo, is also sings with a jazz quartet and the Latin singer Toni. The good news is that he'll be back again in Sri Lanka before the festive season. |
