Behave in a friendly manner - President tells Ministers

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga urged her ministers to be friendly while conducting ministerial affairs to combat and wipe out corruption.

The President made these observations at a workshop held for ministers in the government's effort to 'take the nation forward' at the President's Pavilion in Kandy where Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse was also present. Renowned Management Consultant, Dhammika Kalpage expressed expertise at this workshop.

President Kumaratunga stressed the need to unitedly and collectively move the country forward in the right direction with proper management.

I urge you to implement an effective administration, utilise time to take the nation forward, have a strict control on public expenditure and strengthen public relations', the President asserted.

The President requested the ministers to be more considerate in dealing with the public who seek assistance from ministries as it was a collective responsibility to take the nations forward with public cooperation.
