LTTE threatens to open fire The LTTE last week threatened to open fire at the Army in Nargar Kovil unless they abandoned repairs to the Forward Defence Line (FDL) fences in Nargar Kovil, Jaffna. According to military sources, the fence in question divides the Army controlled areas from the LTTE held territories. "The fence was in a state of collapse and it needed urgent repairs," a senior military official from the North said. "It was within the provision of the MoU to carry out repairs and renovation, but the LTTE had threatened to shoot soldiers who were doing the repairs. Our soldiers have acted very patiently during these threats," he said. |
