CHS focuses on English medium classes

To meet the growing demand for an education in the English medium, City High School was set up by a group of experienced educationists.

The school is located at 24, Kreeda Mawatha, off Sri Saranankara Road, Dehiwela and the building complex has provision and facilities for the varied curriculum taught, a spokesman for the school said. Classes are conducted from the Montessori extending upto London and local G.C.E. (O/L) and A/L. A second language of either Sinhalese or Tamil is taught on a compulsory basis.

There is a special focus on the education in the primary section as higher education would become meaningless without proper primary schooling.

The primary section of the school will lay the foundation to identify the special skills of the child may have and make every effort to develop them to the maximum so that he/she would become creative not only with the mind but also with the hands", the spokesman added.
