Ardent lovers of good music the time for celebration is here......... - 'cos for the first time in Sri Lanka - the opening of Colombo's dedicated Jazz and Blues Club Gatsby's a la the Galadari Hotel. With an entertainment ambience by design, flair and audio/visual music fare Gatsby's will come alive with a great deal of sophistication and style on Friday August 6. The music at Gatsby's will establish a unique musical identity for the club and will cater to the more mature aficionados who have up to now been neglected in the entertainment scene. Adding distinction to the overall class and concept of Gatsby's will be the exemplary food and beverage service with the all important guest in mind. Gatsby's at Galadari Hotel will be opened Mondays through Thursdays from 5.30 p.m. to 2 a.m. On Fridays and Saturdays Gatsbys will be welcome guests from 5.30 p.m. and close at 3 a.m. while on Sundays this Jazz and Blues Club will be opened for Brunch. A special feature music wise never seen or heard in any other nightspot is the state-of-the-art "music-on-demand" feature (sort of a hi-tech jukebox) that will enable patrons to select and to call up and have played on the house music system a request of theirs, which is within the set out database of songs. This music-on-demand juke-box, offers more than 70 days of continuous music without hearing the same song twice. At Gatsby's there will be weekly screenings of international jazz/blues concerts on giant screens and on Fridays and Saturdays live jazz and blues. Speaking to the organizers revealed that about 3-4 international acts per year will be featured commencing August - so watch out for the date, and be a Gatsby fan! |
