Friday nights a hut Revelation

Going places with their brand of music is the six piece band Revelation who have added another feather in their cap. The band now plays every Friday night at the hut, Mt. Lavinia, except on the last Friday in the month according to their band leader/vocalist Shean.

On the last Friday they swing out at the CR & FC Revelation found quick success ever since they banded together and played a contract gig in Dubai, where the group turned out to be the talk of the town, what with winning a band contest where international groups participated. Back home the guys are much sought after and play regularly at many popular nightspots including R&B on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The band comprises Diren Sabaratnam on drums, Zion de Silva - guitar, Iqbal Asaan - base, Sheherazade Asmone (Sherry) the female glitz with Sean the main vocalist. "Our band is often mistaken for being an "only rock band" but we play a balanced mix of songs which includes soul and all the dance grooves of the 60's & 70's, long sessions of rock'n roll hip hop and the rap handled by Diren. We have included Sri Lankan percussion to our grooves which is now extremely popular with our fans.

This does not mean that we have let down the rock fans. No!, we play rock classics and our rock list keeps growing" voices the energetic Shean whose performance on stage radiates electric vibes. So make that date with Shean and Revelation on Fridays at the hut and on Thursdays and Saturdays at R&B.
