Samson Industries (DSI) Limited at the Crescat Boulevard last Wednesday. Also present on this occasion were Subhinder Singh Prem (Managing Director of Reebok India Company), Dr. Sam Rajapakse (Chairman of DSI Group), several Indian cricketers who are some of Reebok's brand ambassadors. Reebok India Company has a lion's share of 43 per cent of the market in India and was adjudged the "Subsidiary of the Year 2003 - Asia Pacific" by Reebok International last December. They have one of the largest distribution networks in India with 105 exclusive stores and 2500 rooftops, and are embarking on an aggressive retail expansion strategy to step up its retail and distribution presence within the Indian sub-continent. Managing Director of India's Reebok Company, Subhinder Singh Prem said that the Sri Lankan market has considerably opened up in the last couple of years, and with the strategic retail partnership with DSI, has opened avenues to distribution opportunities for Reebok in Sri Lanka. He said that they hope to nurture this partnership and strengthen it further to expand Reebok with more such emphasis in Sri Lanka by the end of the year. (L.G.) |
