'Rata Sallivasana' by People's Bank In a bid to boost the inflow of foreign exchange into the country, People's Bank yesterday launched "Rata Salli Vasana" a unique foreign exchange remittance reward scheme. The launch of "Rata Salli Vasana" took place at the People's Bank - Overseas Customer Services Unit with the distinguished presence of the Chairman of People's Bank, P. Amarasinghe, and the CEO/General Manager - Asoka de Silva. The first such foreign remittance reward scheme to be introduced in Sri Lanka, "Rata Salli Vasana" will offer over Rs. 6 million in prizes annually and will encourage and motivate Sri Lankans to remit monies through official channels which will also boost the foreign exchange reserves in the country. All foreign money transfers and drafts drawn on People's bank, Travellers Cheques, Foreign Currency Notes, Drafts/Cheques in Foreign Currency drawn on banks outside Sri Lanka and US Dollar drafts drawn on Banks in Sri Lanka, which are deposited to a Rupee account with People's Bank or en-cashed at any people's Bank outlet will be eligible for the "Rata Salli Vasana" foreign remittance lucky draw to be held tri-monthly. Ten prizes of Rs. 50000 each will be awarded to the lucky winners of the tri-monthly draws, while the lucky winner of the year end grand draw will receive a prize of Rs. 2.5 million. Meanwhile, the second and third prize winners of the grand draw will receive Rs. 1 million and Rs. 500000 respectively. In addition, 47 consolation prizes of Rs. 50000 each will also be awarded to the lucky winners of the grand draw. |
