C: beach returns

C: beach is back, but promises to be a whole lot more than the original beach rugby concept. This year's event scheduled for November 20 on the beach of Jetwing Hotels in Negombo from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. November 21 combines beach rugby, beach volleyball and several eco sports events plus a combination of live entertainment, big screen, bar-b-q and many more.

This project aims to raise the awareness of coast conservation by highlighting the natural beauty and intrinsic value of the natural beach environment.

The registration of teams are now open and close on November 10 with transport been provided to and from the venue, refreshments, bar-b-q dinner and playing kits courtesy Carlsberg.

Teams may register for the beach rugby tournament or the beach volleyball tournament, or for both consisting of all girls, all boys or a combination.

Beach rugby will be played in a five-man format, and the volleyball in a three-man format, with the finals of both events under lights. (L.G.)
