A veritable Garden of Eden

Anyone visiting the South can now enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Eden Resort and Spa which opened its doors after the refurbishment program.

The Confifi group invested Rs 150 million and embarked on an ambitious refurbishment program which got off in May.

The renovation work was undertaken by a well-known Malaysian architect Karim Hussein in collaboration with Bali-based Australian interior designer, Franco Benidinelli.

The duo turned the hotel into a luxurious product with a personal touch and anyone who visits the hotel will feel welcome and comfortable from the time the first minute of stepping in.

The lobby has been completely refurbished with sandstone and granite finishes and the four check in desks offer guests a more personalised service.

The beautifully landscaped garden and cascading greenery line the balconies of all 158 spacious rooms including a custom designed new de-luxe room category 'Paradise rooms and suites' are located on the top floor. This category which includes 16 bedrooms, four suites and two penthhouses offers a hotel- within- a- hotel concept.

The guests in these rooms and suites can enjoy a personalised check in /checkout, choice of welcome drinks, separate lounge for relaxation, business center, butler service, special pillow menu with a variety to suit every comfort level, Special menus of room fragrances and upgraded in-room amenities are special features.

A four poster bed, timber flooring, wide screen TV, DVD/VCD player with an extensive DVD library and espresso machine are some of the special amenities in these rooms.

All the guest rooms have been renovated and each of the 113 rooms with teak timber flooring and 23 split-level superior rooms with granite flooring and marble bathrooms are centrally airconditioned with satellite television, electronic safety deposit box, tea and coffee-making facilities, fully stocked mini bar and many other facilities.

The hotel's new signature restaurant 'Temptations' located on the second floor is an ideal location to sample the finest selection of wines that accompany the food prepared by the hotel's chefs.

The cafe, Chameleon serves snacks, fresh salads and special blends of tea and coffee round the clock and is an ideal venue for fine cocktails and evening entertainment.

Located on the ground floor the main dining restaurant 'Garden of Eden' serves breakfast and dinner. The restaurant has been given a new look with elegant timber chairs, upholstery in natural textures and shades, special lighting and a timber-skirted wall with carvings of tropical plants which has made the restaurant more modern, airy and welcoming.

The sports and entertaiment facilities including the gymnasium have been refurbished. The Spa has been upgraded to provide a wide range of massages and treatments for different groups and varying needs including a full range of aromatherapy treatment.

The staff of the hotel underwent training prior to the opening and even the uniforms of the staff were re-designed by well known Sri Lankan designer Dinesh Chandrasena of Claire's Collection, Los Angeles.
