Royal skipper Dimithri slams 135 A fine batting performance by Royal skipper Dimithri Siriwardena was the highlight of the drawn inter-school cricket encounter between St. Benedict's and Royal played at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday. Siriwardena was the driving force of the Royal batting as he followed up his first innings 58 with a useful 135 in the second innings facing 149 deliveries striking eleven fours and six sixes. On his way to his three figure mark he was also involved in three partnerships as Royal reached 257 for 6 at close. Siriwardena added 118 runs for the third-wicket with Feroz Ahamed (33) and 48 for the fourth wicket with Malinga Maligaspe (31) and a further 62 runs for the fifth wicket with Lakmal Rajapakse (21 n.o) as they gave a fine batting display. Royal were dismissed for 189 in the first essay and the Bens, who were 65 for 3 overnight, made 190 for 9 declared. Chanaka Wijewardena was the top scorer with 41.
