Wasantha and Kalyanakumara - star performers A fine knock of 124 runs by Ruwan Wasantha (a six and 21 fours) helped School for the Blind to score an easy win by 108 runs over Disabled Youth Sports Club of Anuradhapura in the Blind Cricketers National League match played at St. Joseph's College grounds in Anuradhapura. Ratmalana Blind School batting first made 194. Wasantha was the batsman who helped them a great deal with that knock of 124. Corporal Bandara took 5 for 86 for Anuradhapura. Disabled Youth from Anuradhapura were shot out for 86 with Keerthi Jayawardena top scoring with 34. Chaminda Pushpakumara and Cyril Jayawickrema took three wickets each for the Ratmalana school. In another league match, a fine allround performance by Sri Lanka 'cap' A. Kalyanakumara (97 with two sixes and 9 fours) and 5 for 10 helped debutants CEI Plastics to record a mammoth 373-runs win over SLFVH Youth at the Piliyandala Somaweera Chandrasiri Playground. With Kalyanakumara in fine form, CEI Plastics made a massive 463. Wasantha Pushpakumara was the most successful bowler for SLFVH with 3 for 68. In their turn, SLFVH Youth were shot out for 90 runs with Wasantha Pushpakumara making 27. |
