TULF calls for Federal constitution TULF President V. Anandasangaree has written to President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga requesting her to draft a Federal Constitution which will meet the aspirations of all sections of the people in the country, without any partiality shown to any group. Anandasangaree in his letter notes that "this country has never faced a more favourable situation than today to find a satisfactory solution for our problem". While claiming only a Federal Constitution could solve the ethnic problem Anandasangaree observes that "with the international community playing the role of umpire, neither the LTTE nor the government or any other opposing force can allege partiality or accuse of favouring one or the other". |
