LTTE meets NE Governor

A five-member delegation of the LTTE's Development and Administration unit paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed North and East Governor Tyronne Fernando at his official residence in Trincomalee on Friday.

According to the Governor's office, the LTTE delegation was led by Chinnappah, head of the organisation's development unit and the meeting lasted for more than an hour with discussions based on the rehabilitation activities in the wartorn region.

The delegation had also pointed out the shortcomings in the activities with regard to rehabilitation and promised to extend its support to the Governor in his future rehabilitation and other humanitarian activities.

It was a very cordial meeting where the LTTE delegation also expressed their concern over the flood situation in the region. (A.P.)
