OBSERVER-BATA cricket contests start today The 27th OBSERVER-BATA schoolboy cricketer of the year contest and other allied contests stars today with the two forerunners - Most Popular Schoolboy cricketer All Island and Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer Outstation contests. The Coupons appear on page 18. Readers of the Sunday Observer and Daily News will not be forgotten in conducting these two contests as there are two valuable prizes for those who vote for their favourite cricketers in the weekly contests. The two contests will have two readers prizes each week in both contests. There will be two first prizes of Rs. 1.000 each and two second prizes of Rs. 750 each. Coupon No. 1 will appear today and it will be repeated on Tuesday and Thursday in the Daily News. Entries in Coupon No. 1 will close on Monday January 31 and results of the first week's count will be published in the Sunday Observer of 6th February 2005.
