Lankan delegation for 'Singapore Fashion Week' by Ananda Kannangara At least 20 Sri Lankan garment industry representatives will participate in the forthcoming "Singapore Fashion Week" (SFW-2005) scheduled to be held at the Suntec International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Singapore from October 18 to 21. The Sri Lankan sponsor S.D. Publications (Pvt) Ltd (The publisher of Garment Times Magazine) will take the local delegation to the fashion show. The show will also feature a series of international exhibitions catering to the fashion, garment and textile industry. A large number of international buyers, including buying office officials from Singapore are expected to place their orders at the four-day exhibition, conducted by the Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) and Textile and Fashion Federation, Singapore. Chief Executive, S.D. Publications Sujith Gunawardana told a media briefing that the objective of representing our men at the exhibition was to promote our own ready-made garments oversees while exposing international buyers to the local garment industry through manufacturers' exhibitions, seminars and fashion shows," The organiser of the "Singapore Fashion Week" Edward Liv said that the fashion show will immensely help Sri Lankan garment manufacturers to showcase their quality garments and latest designs, styles and colours to the international brands and buying houses of Canada, the US, Asia and Japan. |
