Assistance needed

Ashani Nuwanmini de Silva, a student of Nugegoda Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya, Special Unit, has a severe congenital hearing impairment. She has been under the care of many specialists since infancy. They now recommend a Cochlear implant to restore her hearing. The cost of this implant is Rs. 2m.

The father of this child served in the Sri Lanka Air Force, and his present level of income is such, he cannot afford to undertake this operation without outside financial assistance.

The parents request that generous contributions be sent to A/C No. 328-209-035430-9 at the People's Bank, Kottawa (opened by the parents in the name of the child) to help this ten year old girl to overcome her very severe hearing impairment and continue her education.

Save a life

M. G. Chaminda, aged 20 years who lives in Balangoda, Depelamulla, Wikiliya suffering from a heart disease. According to the Heart Specialist Dr. Aruna Kapuruge's recommendations Chaminda needs to undergo an urgent surgery.

The total cost for operation and drugs will cost about Rs. 235,000. Chaminda is from a poor family and he is unable to find this amount.

He seek all the generous people's help to find this total amount and we have opened an account at the People's Bank at Balangoda for this purpose.

Urgent help needed

C. H. Jayawardena, a 3-year-old is suffering from Meningitis.

As a result, he is unable to hear or talk.

He has been recommended an immediate surgery of which the cost is Rs. 2,300,000. Contributions can be remitted to the A/c No. 244-207-0356550, People's Bank, Beliatta Branch.

Missing

Udaya Herath (32) who had been working in Darvinchi Company, Kotehena is reported missing since he left for work on 16.12.2004. He is the father of a seven-months-old child. He is 5'4" in height, well built, fair in complexion and short haired. He was last seen wearing a long sleeved blue shirt and black trouser and had left home by a bike (No: WP H-M0875).

According to his wife he had left home around 8.50 a.m. On the same day he had called his wife twice around 9.00 a.m and 12.00 noon saying that he was going to Kandy as he was in need of money. Later as his wife had found out he had neither gone to work nor to Kandy.

Any information about his whereabouts can be given to the following addresses or to the Police Station, Kottawa.
