EDB provides business info to exporters The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lanka Orix Factors Limited, the local counterpart for Dun and Bradstreet Services, one of the world's leading providers of reliable and authentic international business information, to provide international business information to export companies in Sri Lanka, a spokesman for the EDB said. He said the international market is today more competitive and demanding. With the development of information and communication technology, the international business is being transacted at a faster pace then ever before. Unless the local export community has quick access to authentic, relevant, accurate and up-to-date business information, they cannot make correct and timely business decisions to compete with their competitors. By setting up this facility, the export community will be able to perform a wide range of business analysis such as: Selecting prospective buyers/customers; Assessing the risk of doing business with customers; Researching major competitors; Selecting appropriate payment methods; Acquire competitive intelligence and Assessing the creditworthiness of companies. The EDB will receive this information at a discounted rate and the enterprises engaged in the export business are eligible to obtain this assistance. |
