Public warned against 1 Kg wheat flour packs The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has cautioned the public when purchasing one kilogram packs of wheat flour. The CAA has received complaints that a company was selling wheat flour infested with insects and not fit for consumption. The CAA conducted raids and confiscated one kilogram packs of wheat flour which was unfit for human consumption. The flour was produced in court. In addition the CAA purchased one kilogram packs of wheat flour bearing the trade mark of the company from the market and sent all samples for testing to the Government Analyst who confirmed that it was infested with insects and unfit for consumption. Based on the Government Analyst's report court has given an order to the company not to issue 120,233 kilograms of wheat flour which are in the stores of the company, said a spokesman for the Central Information and Media Unit of the Information Department.(SG) |
