In the wilderness...
Bound in same passion for wildlife photography, a gem businessman cum hotelier Ifham and Ravi, a doctor by profession, have spent their time in the thick jungles photographing fauna and flora. Ifham's passion for photography was derived from his family-run gem business. Ravi, who holds a Diploma in Wildlife Conservation and Management from United States, had the luck to be posted in a rural hospital bordering the Yala National Park.
He is also the co-author of "Wilds of Lanka", published in 2003, which was a major photographic portfolio of the animals in Yala. The two photographers were taken up by digital photography, when they worked with world renowned photographer Andy Rouse, photographing leopards and elephants in Yala and Minneriya. Andy, a full time digital convert, convinced the two young men of the potential of digital photography. "Changing Times," displays digital photographs, all shot by the two men during the past year. And it is also about their transition from film to digital photography. The exhibition will be held from August 11 to 13 from 9 am-8 pm at the Harold Pieris Gallery, Lionel Wendt, Colombo. |
