Nation bids adieu to Kadirgamar by the News Desk The nation will bid farewell to Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar
tomorrow. The last rites of the slain leader who was brutally shot dead by a
suspected LTTE sniper on late Friday night will be conducted at Independence
Square with full State honours at 3.00 pm.
Kadirgamar a hero of our times - President President Chandrika Kumaratunga was deeply saddened to learn of the
assassination of Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar late Friday night.
While condemning this act of terror the President states that her Government
will not be bowed by such heinous acts of violence and will spare no effort
to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice.
